The fifth season of the Big Brother begins on September 5, 2008, with the entry of all fourteen tenants into the new Big Brother house, it lasted over a little over 100 days.

This season was special and in everything much different from the previous ones. The show from the Zagreb Film Studio in Dubrava moved to the Kantana movie theater, forty miles west of Bangkok, the capital of Thailand and has many features of other reality shows. Thus, the Croatian Big Brother is the first in the world to be emitted from the mother countries.

The Bangkok home has no tall walls, but the fence behind the rice field. In the courtyard full of variety, Thailand's characteristic plants include a swimming pool and artificial lake. The interior is also decorated in a Thai style, and tenants must look after the culture of the host country. When they enter the enclosed rooms, they must remove their shoes with their feet, and every insult to the King and Bude will be punished.

The show started with the entrance of Antonija Blaće on the elephant in the space where the Big Brother house and studio were located, presenting candidates and entering the house. The house was introduced by the co-star of the celebrated season Marko Lušić, while the head of Korana Gvozdic appeared from the Zagreb studio and talked with the families and friends of tenants.
